FC Old Bridge is a club founded on 27.07.1995 by a group of enthusiasts and athletes of Bosnian origin, who found refuge from the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina and settled here in the city of Brisbane.

FC Old Bridge was named after the symbolic Old Bridge in Mostar, which was built during the Ottoman period. The bridge was a symbol of the union of two different peoples, two different cultures and religions.

In 1993 the bridge was destroyed by aggressors and as a result the founding members;

Pandžo Safet, Hodžić Mirsad, Mustafa Fetahagić, Pandžo Izet, Subašić Osman, Matišić Mile, Džafić Suad, Popara Nihad, Hadžijusufović Sefko, Fatić Meho, Hodžić Šerif, Bašić Senad, Sistek Edis and Ervin Resulović decided to name the club in honour of the bridge and carry the name into eternity.
