Dr. Selma Kadić-Maglajlić, Professor at Copenhagen Business School and a member of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS), has been awarded the prestigious DSEB Research Award, a recognition granted for outstanding scientific contributions in the field of business and social research.

Her award-winning research delivers a powerful and timely message: work does not shape only an individual’s professional path, but also has long-term effects on personality, mental health, and human behavior. Through rigorous, evidence-based analysis, Dr. Kadić-Maglajlić demonstrates how prolonged stress, workplace pressures, and job design can have serious and lasting consequences for employees’ mental well-being.

Unlike common narratives that place responsibility solely on individuals and their “resilience,” her research shifts the focus to what is often overlooked—the role of organizations, work environments, and responsible leadership.

The significance of this recognition is further underscored by the fact that this globally relevant topic is being explored by a scientist of Bosnian and Herzegovinian origin, whose work today has a strong impact on the international academic community and the business sector. As a member of BHAAAS, Dr. Selma Kadić-Maglajlić actively contributes to increasing the visibility and recognition of the knowledge and expertise of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora on the global stage.
