“Painting stone houses for me means documenting material and visual purity, simplicity, harmony of proportion and unity with the soil and the place. Unfortunately, stone houses are becoming a beauty that dies and disappears due to urbicide, which is increasingly visible, in which the traditions of a place are not respected, nor are they built with natural indigenous materials. That’s why I want the stone houses to live, at least in my works. If they influence someone to change their decision and instead of demolishing it, start rebuilding with respect and love the house as it was, my “construction” on canvas and paper will make sense.” (Safet Zec)
